My Solo Trip...............

One day I Visited Kanda Viharaya

Kande Vihara is situated on a high hill near the town of Aluthgama. It is a popular Buddhist temple in Sri Lanka, especially visited by large crowds on Poya (full moon) days. The temple’s features, such as the main shrine hall, Buddha statues, and ancient murals, are truly remarkable.Kande Vihara offers a peaceful and serene environment, where free-flowing breezes and a calm atmosphere provide visitors with mental relaxation. However, on Poya days, due to special religious ceremonies, the temple becomes crowded and lively with many devotees.A part of the song “Kande Vihare” sung by Chandralekha Perera can be associated with this temple:

Kande Vihare seela sugandhe  Paawi enne ghanta naade

Dotha puraala nelum nelala  Pansal yamu ko chuti nangiye.

The temple features remarkable elements such as its main shrine hall, Buddha statues, and ancient murals. Kande Vihara offers a peaceful and serene environment, with gentle breezes and a calm atmosphere that provide visitors with mental relaxation.

It is an attractive destination both spiritually and for sightseeing, and the tranquil and beautiful surroundings of the temple are celebrated in Chandralekha Perera’s song “Kande Vihare.”

Kande Vihara is a place where one can experience peace, religious reverence, and the joy of visiting a serene, scenic temple
